here's some stuff I do that could be argued as being "cool"

1. make songs under 3 minutes

hate songs feeling too long? hate songs that are just too long in general? just don't like music in general? well if you like any of those I make songs short.

examples:

System of a Down - B.Y.O.B.
Rush - The Trees
L7 - Pretend We're Dead

sometimes the edits suck, I will admit. these ones are some of the arguably better ones I've done.

2. volunteer work for BlueMaxima's Flashpoint

so you know flash games, right? you might not know that flash is being deprecated at the end of 2020. in other words, all major browsers will lose support for Flash by January 1st, 2021. BlueMaxima's Flashpoint is trying to archive all the flash games possible, while also taking shockwave, unity, and other games for kicks n giggles. I'm an official curator; almost 70 games as of the time I type this.

3. archival of King games

yeah this explains itself. i'm surprised I havent been C&D'd yet.

song of the day 5/11/19

the song of the day is The Fountain of Lamneth by Rush.

a nearly 20 minute epic with a fantasy theme predating 2112, this was Rush's second song over 10 minutes; the first being The Necromancer, a song also on Caress of Steel. Fountain of Lamneth chronicles a man's journey over his life to find the Fountain of Lamneth.

the guitarist of Rush, Alex Lifeson, has looked back at the fourth section, Panacea, rather negatively, calling it "an attempt at something that didn't work out" and "innocent". as well, the bassist and vocalist, Geddy Lee, has looked back on this song rather negatively in an interview featured in the book Contents Under Pressure.

as for the album, Caress of Steel was a commercial failure, but is nowadays regarded as underrated.

start of something new

as Escargot Spaces, the website that hosted my old blog, shut down, I have decided to move to Blogger to post king related stuff whatever I feel like.

if a representative of King is reading this, I am perfectly willing to stop if you ask.
